Setting a New Standard in ABA Therapy

At Galaxy Developments, we combine compassionate care with expert oversight to create meaningful milestones for children and families.

Shaping Futures with Compassion and Expertise

It’s time for a change in the field of behavior analysis. Too often, parents don’t see progress after weeks of therapy, don’t receive consistent parent training, and cannot recall the last time their child was supervised by a BCBA. At Galaxy, we do things differently. With daily BCBA supervision and evidence-based programs, we deliver meaningful outcomes, helping children access joy, independence, and connection.

Our Mission:

Our mission is simple - to be the best choice you could make for your child. Let us be the decision you’ll never regret.

We enrich the lives of children with autism and developmental challenges through compassionate, evidence-based ABA services. By partnering with families, educators, and the community, we foster growth, independence, and meaningful progress, helping every child achieve their fullest potential.

Andy’s Journey: A Testament to the Galaxy Way

Andy’s story is more than an inspiration—it’s the foundation of Galaxy Developments. As the son of our founder, Andy’s remarkable transformation from early challenges to extraordinary achievements embodies the success of the Galaxy approach. His journey is a testament to the personalized care, evidence-based therapies, and unwavering dedication that define everything we do.

At just 3 years old, Andy was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder by UC Irvine’s Department of Psychiatry. His diagnosis came with significant challenges that affected every aspect of his daily life:

  • Delayed Speech and Communication: Andy struggled to express himself and understand others.
  • Social and Sensory Sensitivities: Poor eye contact, repetitive play patterns, and hypersensitivity to sensory stimuli made interactions overwhelming.
  • Behavioral Difficulties: Andy faced challenges with emotional regulation, hyperactivity, and impulsivity, often resulting in temper tantrums or self-injurious behaviors.
  • Educational Barriers: Segregated into special education, Andy was unable to participate in general education classes due to his behavioral and communication challenges.

These early hurdles underscored the need for tailored, intensive interventions to help Andy thrive.

As the son of Galaxy’s founder, Andy’s journey inspired the therapies and approaches that now define our organization. His personalized plan focused on these five critical interventions:

  • Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI):
    • Push-in support for vocational, behavioral, and academic goals within general education.
    • Intensive 2:1 instructional assistant support for individualized learning and growth.
  • Speech and Language Therapy:
    • Reduced socially inappropriate comments through targeted speech exercises.
    • Enhanced recognition and understanding of nonverbal communication cues.
  • Behavioral Interventions:
    • Positive behavior supports and structured reinforcement systems.
    • Visual aids and social stories to guide behavior and improve daily routines.
  • Advanced ABA Techniques:
    • Discrete Trial Training (DTT): Breaks down skills into small steps for efficient learning.
    • Natural Environment Teaching (NET): Encourages learning through everyday routines and interests.
    • Functional Communication Training (FCT): Replaced challenging behaviors with effective communication strategies.
  • Counseling and Guidance:
    • Group counseling sessions to develop social and emotional skills.
    • Play-based activities to build confidence and foster peer connections.

These interventions gave Andy the tools and support needed to overcome challenges, inspiring the creation of Galaxy Developments to help other children and families achieve similar success.

Over the years, Andy has achieved remarkable milestones that reflect his growth and determination:

  • Academic Achievements:
    • Transitioned from special education to general education classes.
    • Maintains A’s and B’s in all coursework.
    • Speech, language, reading, and writing skills are now at grade level.
  • Social and Emotional Growth:
    • Demonstrates normative behavior in social settings.
    • Actively participates in peer groups and has formed meaningful friendships.
    • Attended his first school dance with confidence and joy.
  • Extracurricular Success:
    • Earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do with no special accommodations.
    • Plays on a Pony League baseball team, winning four championships.
    • Engages in weekly tennis lessons and enjoys hobbies like reading, drawing superhero art, and exploring Greek mythology.

Andy’s journey shows that with the right support, any child can achieve incredible milestones.
